R&D Grants – Scotland If your company is carrying out any form of Research & Development, then its worth looking at the Scottish Enterprise site ( https://www.scottish-enterprise.com/support-for-businesses/funding-and-grants/business-grants/research-and-development-grant ) to see what is available. If you can fulfill all the bullets below then its definitely worth applying: Your business is based in or planning to locate in Scotland Your project represents a significant innovation for your company You can demonstrate that your idea has commercial prospects You have the necessary management and technical expertise and resources, either in-house or brought-in, to make the project a success The project cannot go ahead without the R&D grant or would proceed in slower timescale or significantly reduced scope, which would have detrimental impact on the commercial opportunity Both the project and the business are financially viable

Scottish Government runs Civtech Challenge round 4

The Scottish Government has announced the individual Civtech challenges and gone through the engagement process with potential suppliers. The programme should begin in September and is aimed at matching digital tech innovators with the public sector organisations leading the challenges. Funding

Innovate UK Smart Grants: February 2019

​ Funding of £25K to £2M available for R&D projects. The competition to apply for a Smart Grant opens on 18th February 2019 and closes on the 24th April. Companies can apply for a share of up to £20 million to deliver R&D innovations / projects that could have a significant impact on the UK economy. The funding is open to single companies and collaborations.

Funding Competition: electronics, sensors and photonics for robotics and AI

Grants of between £25K and £250 K (for collaborative R&D projects) are available via the UK Innovation Funding Service / Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund. The competition opens on the 11th march and closes on the 8th May. Innovate UK is part of UK Research and Innovation and is investing up to £2 million to develop electronics, sensors and photonics (ESP) devices, components and/or sub-systems for robotics and AI (RAI) operations. Solutions must be capable of surviving and operating in extreme and challenging environments.

Track Personnel on HMS QNLZ - Innovative solution required

DASA the Defence and Security Accelerator competition is seeking solutions to track personnel onboard the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth (QNLZ). The purpose is to improve safety and at the same time reduce administration. There are two challenges: Account and manage the personnel on board (POB) Provide real time tracking of personnel on board. This is particularly pertinent to emergency situations
